My name is Moriah and I drink coffee. I also make coffee, sell coffee, and clean up after other people who drink coffee. I’ve been doing this for nearly a quarter of my life, so you’d think I would possess an infinite knowledge of beans and roasts, equipment and espresso, and how to pour a triple rosetta, right? Sadly, that is not the case. I could tell you how to sweep and mop a store in under 20 minutes. I can tell you that the word “espresso” certainly does not have an “x” in it. I can even (somewhat consistently) pour an impressive heart. In the six years I’ve spent in coffee shops, I’ve seen a lot of weird things and I’ve learned a lot about how to be a customer, an employee, a manager, and a barista; but what I’ve found recently is that there is still so much for me to learn.
